BELvue Museum

Belgium is surprising!

Chips, beer and chocolate...surely there is more to Belgium than that?

Democracy, prosperity, solidarity, pluralism, migration, language and Europe: these are the themes used by the BELvue museum to help you to discover Belgium. Each one is developed through present-day testimonials and then traced right through history. Thi is a modern, original way of gaining a fuller understanding of modern-day Belgium.

Have a look at the gallery too: there are more than 200 objects to view, each one forming a tangible memory of Belgium. Here are just a few examples: a lithgraph by Magritte, crystal vases by Val Saint-Lambert, a carnival costume from Binche and a footbaal signed by the Red Devils. The very essence of Belgian-ness!

You can also simply "call in" for the pleasure of enjoying a magnificent place, the old 18th century Bellevue building. Standing just next to the Royal Palace with a view over its gardens, the only edifice of its kind, superbly decorated. This building is much more than a pile of stones or history, it lets you relive part of our collective memory and welcomes you with open arms.
